It was a warm summer afternoon The trail was long and I was tired. After the 1 hour climb we had made it. The view was breath taking you could see for miles.
It was the first time I walked this trip alone without being carried at one point or another. You see I was 6 years old. I always loved hiking and especially when we saw the curious looking people with huge backpacks , ragged clothes, and unruly hair. Little did I realize they were thru-hikers, but something about them drew me in. May be it was their passion, or how they were so enthusiastic, but one thing was for sure, one day I would get out and have my own adventure. Just like they seemed to be on a great adventure in a new world. Now looking back I guess backpacking is a new world. Starting with what you have on your back.
I have been wanting to go on a trip for 3 years now and finally I have come to the conclusion that this coming year is the opportunity. Now to think I am going to be the one with the huge backpack, ragged clothes, and unruly hair. What a change in views? Here you will hear my story the story of "Leaves"
