What to do first?

Where do I begin? It was a warm summer day in 2011. I was just chilling from school second week of summer vacation. I happened to come across a video on YouTube it was what to pack for a thru-hike on the Appalachian Trail. I clicked the tab and before it was over I knew this was my chance to start preparing. At that moment everything seemed to click in my head. All I need is a backpack, food, cooking supplies, and a shelter.  Then everything changed as I watched another video on Prep list for AT thru-hike. There is a lot more that goes into it, and I was soon to learn that. I watched video after video and learned that there was a lot to plan for. Time flew by and before I knew it it was November.

I was like oh no. I have so much to learn. So I quickly looked up things and began to learn what I needed. I needed good clothes, rain gear, sleeping gear, and most important money (Lots of it). It felt as this trip was not possible, but then I had an Idea. I had gotten some money for Christmas and I began to look for gear. Soon my backpack was on the way (a creeper), then my shoes (La Sportiva), then my socks (Darn Tough). I then purchased a stove( MSR Pocket Rocket knock off), camp cook pot (GSI Soloist), and trail maps and a guide book (for Pennsylvania to start). I have started a medical kit and my basic needs kits as well. Now I feel that my research is paying off.  I have been gathering supplies for my trip in March and only have a few things to get before my summer week hikes this year.

If all goes well I will be ready to hike the last week of June 2014. I am still working on the most important thing for next year money.
